Sunday Services (11 a.m. & 6 p.m.)
Our two Sunday services are designed to focus hearts and minds on the Lord through worship, prayer, and biblical preaching. From the moment you arrive, you’ll find a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and people who are glad you came.
Here’s what you can expect during a typical Sunday morning service at 11 a.m.:
Christ-honoring music — We sing traditional hymns and gospel songs that glorify the Lord and prepare our hearts to receive His Word.
Bible preaching — Pastor Luke Higgs brings clear, Christ-centered sermons designed to deepen our understanding of Scripture, show how it applies to the challenges of daily life, and continually turn our focus to the Lord.
Order of service — A typical service includes congregational singing and prayer, a "Children's Time" segment with a short Bible talk just for kids, an offering received, Scripture reading, the sermon, and a closing hymn. Please know that if you’re visiting, you’ll never be singled out or put on the spot.
Our Sunday evening service at 6 p.m. provides another opportunity to gather around God’s Word and worship together as a church family. We take requests for favourite hymns, recite our monthly memory verse together, and hear a message from Pastor Luke that strengthens us for the week ahead.
Many people find the evening service to be a refreshing time to close out the Lord’s Day in fellowship and worship, drawing encouragement from God’s Word before beginning a new week.

Sunday School for All Ages (10 a.m.)
Sunday School provides a wonderful opportunity for every age group to learn more about God’s Word in a smaller, interactive setting. We meet together in the main auditorium each Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for a few songs, celebration of any birthdays, and perhaps a Bible drill or two, then all ages are dismissed to attend their classes:
Children’s Classes — The Primary Class (ages 3-6) have their classroom on the 2nd floor, and the Junior Class (ages 7-12) meet downstairs. Engaging lessons, songs, and activities help children learn Bible truths in ways they can understand and remember.
Teen Class — (Ages 13+) This group meets on the 3rd floor. Teenagers have a time of sharing prayer requests and then digging deeper into God’s Word, asking questions, and discussing real-life issues from a biblical perspective.
College & Career Class — This class meets on the 2nd floor and is designed especially for young adults navigating school, work, and life decisions, with practical Bible teaching and discussion relevant to this stage of life.
Adult Class — Older adults meet in the main auditorium for encouraging Bible teaching designed to strengthen their faith and undertanding of the Bible and help apply Scripture to daily living.
Sunday School is a vital part of our church life, and we warmly invite you to come for this extra hour of Bible learning each Lord's Day.

Midweek Prayer & Bible Study
On Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m., our church family gathers for a time of encouragement, prayer, and Bible study. The midweek meeting usually includes:
Singing — We begin with hymns that lift our hearts to the Lord.
Sharing requests — Prayer requests, praises, and updates are shared so we can bear one another’s burdens.
Prayer — We then take some time to pray in small groups, pairs, or individually in quiet reflection before the Lord.
Bible Study — Pastor Luke leads us in a practical, verse-by-verse study of God’s Word to strengthen and encourage our walk with Christ.
This midweek service is a refreshing opportunity to pause from the busyness of life, seek the Lord together, and be renewed in fellowship with Him and with one another.

Some Questions You May Have:
Do I have to give money during the service? — During our Sunday services only, we pass an offering plate as part of our worship to give those who regularly attend an opportunity to give to the Lord and support missions, but there’s absolutely no obligation for anyone to give. If you are visiting, think of this service as our gift to you! Many in our church family prefer to give by other means, so we also provide an online giving option for convenience.
Is there a nursery available for my toddler? — A safe, clean nursery room is available upstairs on the 2nd floor for children under age 4 so that a parent can fully focus on the service, knowing their little ones are well cared for. For those younger ones who are able to stay in the main auditorium with their family, they will find clipboards, colouring pages, and crayons on the back table that they can use quietly during the sermon.
Do I need to dress up to attend? — You may notice that many individuals choose a more traditional style of dress for our worship services, but we warmly welcome everyone—please don't let uncertainty about the right attire keep you from a visit! The only thing we do kindly request is that you make sure all mobile devices are silenced during the service.
Where do I park? — Our lot beside the building provides easy access to the main entrance. Additional parking may be available along Kent Street. For those with mobility needs, we have a handicap-accessible entrance with a ramp at the side of the building, making it easier to enter and exit safely.
What is the Communion Service? — At Missionary Bible Church, we observe the Biblical command to remember the Lord’s death through what is called the Lord’s Table, or a communion service. This special time of remembrance is usually held on the first Sunday evening of each month and takes place immediately following the sermon. It is a brief, reverent service lasting about ten minutes. We do not practice closed communion, which means that believers who are visiting from other churches are welcome to participate with us. We only ask that those who take the bread and juice during this observance have personally trusted Christ as their Saviour and are seeking to walk in obedience to Him. If that is not the case for you, please feel free to let the elements pass by when they are distributed.
What if I don't have a Bible? — If you do not have a Bible and would like to follow along during the Scripture reading and sermon, don't hesitate to ask our greeter at the door, and we will make sure you have one to use. Also, please stop by our literature table at the back of the church before you leave. Everything on the table is free of charge, and you will find a variety of helpful Bible study booklets and Gospel tracts that you are welcome to take any time you visit.

* A Final Note: If you are visiting our church and have questions about salvation, we wholeheartedly encourage you to speak with Pastor Luke or respond during the Gospel invitation at the close of the service. There is never any pressure placed on anyone, but because this is the most important decision a person can ever make, please do not hesitate to let us know if you would like someone to share from God’s Word how you can be saved and know it with certainty.
If you’d like to know more, please make your plans now to come to one of our services. We would love the opportunity to meet you and help you feel right at home!
